The Biggest Loser All Stars to participate in second annual Nautica South Beach Triathlon to benefit St. Jude

Miami, Florida , March 16, 2009 – On Sunday, April 5, a team of three former contestants from NBC's hit show The Biggest Loser, will join more than 1,000 athletes competing in the second annual Nautica South Beach Triathlon presented by Toyota and benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®. Season 6 winner Michelle Aguilar, Season 4 contestant Jerry Lisenby, and Season 5 winner Ali Vincent will compete as “The Biggest Loser All Stars” in the Celebrity Division with each completing one leg of the race.

Aguilar, Lisenby and Vincent will compete to help raise awareness for St. Jude, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatments that are not covered by insurance. No child is denied treatment because of a family’s inability to pay.

Beginning and ending on South Beach, The Biggest Loser All Stars and race participants will compete in a half-mile ocean swim (the expected water temperature is 78 degrees), a 19-mile bike course over Miami's famous causeways and a four-mile run alongside Miami Beach's Art Deco District. The event is open to the public.

ABOUT THE BIGGEST LOSER TEAM:

Ali Vincent:
Season 5 winner Ali Vincent was the first female Biggest Loser. She began her journey on the ranch (with mother Bette Sue as her partner) at 234 pounds and went on to lose 112 pounds, giving her a final weight of 122 pounds ! A former champion synchronized swimmer, Ali draws upon her early athletic achievements to inspire her current fitness regime and continues to hit the pool for a good workout.

Michelle Aguilar:
Season 6 winner Michelle Aguilar joined The Biggest Loser with her mom to form the pink team. With trainer Jillian Michael’s fail-proof health and fitness plan, combined with the moral support of her mother, Michelle beat out the guys to claim the Season 6 title! As if life couldn’t get any better, Michelle got engaged to her long-time boyfriend shortly after her Biggest Loser victory.

Jerry Lisenby:
Jerry was the oldest contestant in Season 4 of The Biggest Loser but his ageless personality and determination kept him in the game with his younger competitors. Jerry is now an avid cyclist and has taken his passion across the United States on many cross-country rides. With more than 100 pounds lost since he approached The Biggest Loser campus, Jerry is thankful to have had such a life changing experience and looks forward to showing off his skills at this year’s Nautica South Beach Triathlon.

ABOUT ST. JUDE:
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
